Godstone is a lovely village in Surrey, an affluent part of the UK. It is surrounded by open countryside but is also within 10-15 minutes drive of the M25. Good country roads provide easy access to surrounding towns.

Buckinghamshire offers a fascinating history just waiting to be explored. The poet, Thomas Gray, is buried at Stoke Poges, in the country churchyard that inspired his famous “Elegy.” Visitors will also discover Checquers, a historic Tudor mansion and residence of British prime ministers since 1921; and Eton College, England's most famous public school.

Hampstead is a district in north-west London. It has been settled since prehistoric times and over the years lots of prehistoric, Roman and Saxon remains have been found. The district has long been a popular residential area and the architecture is predominantly Georgian.

Chigwell, "the first village in London", so close it has an Underground station. In fact in the past it was very much a country area, with historical links to Epping Forest. Reminders of these links can be seen in its older buildings, with 18th century houses and a village atmosphere.

Totteridge, in Whetstone, is a gorgeous place, featuring a bustling shopping area, a village green, school, cricket and tennis clubs and many fields and farms with charming duck ponds. Getting to London from Totteridge is easily done using the tube.

Golders Green is the centre of Jewish middle-class life in London. The area is very residential and green with an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants, the tube station and a bus garage offering services to all parts of the country.

Town Pubs
Godalming boasts narrow attractive streets, lined with many ancient and historic buildings, lie alongside the River Wey, and the town centre has been enhanced for pedestrian use. Godalming is a town with many famous sons and daughters and in 1881 became the first town in the world to have electric public street lighting.

One of the most affluent areas in Surrey, Weybridge is home to St George's Hills – a desirable residence and sometime home of the rich and famous. It was also home to Brooklands Racing Track, which has now been converted to a museum. People from all over the world come to visit this beautiful part of the country.

The small town of Cookham, on the River Thames, is close to some of the most beautiful stretches of the river. The area is great for walking and picnics, and nearby Winter Hill offers some great views across the River Thames and Thames Valley.

Brentwood is on the outskirts of London not far from the Thames and the river crossing at Dartford. It is a busy town near the M25, with the Brentwood Centre, a sports centre and entertainment venue, parks, cinemas and theatre, plenty of shops in the High Street.

Surrey has long been important to English Kings and before the Norman invasion Anglo-Saxon Kings were crowned at Kingston-upon-Thames. Although Surrey is small and has 'lost' lots of territory to London, it still retains much unspoilt countryside and a true rural feel.
